Hasan Arat criticized Ahmet Nur Çebi harshly.

27.10.2024 16:00

In the 2024 Ordinary Administrative and Financial General Assembly Meeting of Beşiktaş Club, Arat harshly criticized former president Ahmet Nur Çebi. Arat stated, "Remember, according to our regulations, a handover was not conducted. If you are leaving the position, you must conduct a handover, and you should not come to the congress with a crowd of bodyguards." The president of the black-and-white team also directed criticism at the transfers made during Çebi's term.

The Beşiktaş Club's 2024 Ordinary Administrative and Financial General Assembly Meeting was held at the ICC Istanbul Congress Center Harbiye Auditorium. The president of the black-and-white club, Hasan Arat, made striking statements at the congress. Arat harshly criticized former president Ahmet Nur Çebi and his administration.

"YOU WILL NOT COME TO THE CONGRESS WITH A CROWD OF BODYGUARDS"

Criticizing Beşiktaş's former president Ahmet Nur Çebi and his administration, Hasan Arat said, "Whenever I came before you, I told the truth. Today, you will completely see that a period in Beşiktaş will come to an end with what you will learn. Remember, according to our regulations, a handover was not made. If you are leaving the position, you will have to hand over, and you will not come to the congress with a crowd of bodyguards. I said no one can point fingers at the president of Beşiktaş. This is one of the largest communities that all of Turkey watches. No one can come here and challenge. Beşiktaş is a heavy stone; you will be crushed under it," he said.

"THE ERA OF SINGLE SIGNATURE HAS ENDED"

Hasan Arat continued his remarks as follows;

"The era of arbitrariness in management, the single signature application, and evading oversight has ended. A more transparent and robust corporate structure has been established. The path for Beşiktaş's institutionalization and modernization has been completely opened."

Regarding the planned "Black Wall" project for Tüpraş Stadium, Arat stated, "The legal processes related to the Black Wall have been completed. We are now waiting for permission from the government," he said.

CRITICIZED THE TRANSFERS MADE

Continuing his criticisms of the former administration, Arat said, "The former administration said on their way out, if this team is successful, give me a share. Should we give a share from the transfer of Eric Bailly that you took at the dinner party at 23:59? Should we give a share from the transfer of Ante Rebic? Should we give a share for Ruiz and Tyler Boyd? Our only chance to make changes to our football team was the winter period. Our only goal was the Turkish Cup to ensure the participation of new players," he explained.

Pointing out that they parted ways with 37 players at the beginning of this season, Hasan Arat said they trust the team and head coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Arat stated, "Since Beşiktaş's last championship, 36 players have been acquired. When we took over, there were serious factions. At the beginning of the season, we sent off 37 players. We brought in 8 players. Those sent off were either on loan, had expired contracts, or were terminated. We acquired players aimed at target areas. We have a very good harmony with Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Trust our coach; this team is a good team. We have difficulties. Due to the 14 foreign player limit, we could only terminate Amartey's contract on the last night. When the winter transfer period comes, we will meet the needs according to our coach's requests," he said.

A FIGHT BROKE OUT BETWEEN THE PARTIES

Ahmet Nur Çebi, the former president of the black-and-white team who attended the Beşiktaş 2024 Ordinary Administrative and Financial General Assembly Meeting, was whistled and reacted to by the general assembly members. Following the reactions towards Ahmet Nur Çebi, the atmosphere in the congress suddenly became chaotic, and a fight broke out among the members.
