Sevdagül Tuncer, the Deputy Chairperson of the Victory Party, was taken from her home to the police station under police escort to give a statement. After her statement, Tuncer was released and stated, "I made a post revealing the violence in children's homes, the irregularities of provincial directors, and the misogynistic sectarian structure. The ministry did not initiate an investigation against these officials; instead, they went and filed a complaint against me. You will not intimidate us, and you will not silence us!"
Victory Party Deputy Chairman Sevdagül Tuncer was taken from her home by police teams yesterday morning to give a statement at the police station. Tuncer was released after her statement, and a statement also came from her party.
"THE LAW IS NOT THE PROSTITUTE OF POWER"
Tuncer, who was taken to the police station, stated, "In December 2023, I made a post revealing the violence in children's shelters implemented by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, the irregularities of provincial directors, and the misogynistic sectarian structure. The ministry did not initiate an investigation against these officials; instead, they filed a complaint against me. Considering that they might have a role in exposing these issues, they changed the positions of the employees in the relevant provincial directorates. And today, I was taken from my home and escorted by police to give a statement. The Ministry of Family, the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Health, the Social Security Institution... There is no institution left that the palace regime has not involved in corruption. We will continue to tell all of this... You will not scare us! You will not silence us! The law is not the prostitute of power!"
"SUMMONED FOR REVEALING IRREGULARITIES"
The Istanbul Provincial Presidency of the Victory Party also made the following statement regarding the issue; "Due to the irregularities related to the Provincial Director of the Ministry of Family and Social Services in Konya that she revealed to the public and followed up on, Victory Party Deputy Chairman Sevdagül Tuncer was taken from her home by the police and summoned to give a statement at the Kağıthane Sadabat Police Station. The Istanbul Provincial Organization of the Victory Party gathered in front of the Sadabad Police Station to support Sevdagül Tuncer under the leadership of Provincial Chairman Mr. Hakan Akşit. After the procedures at the police station, she was released upon the instruction of the prosecutor's office."
