In Aksaray, a young man whose vehicle had a cut coil spring and tinted windows was stopped by police. Upon learning that he would be fined, he first begged the officers and then hurled insults. The young man also threatened a journalist filming the incident, saying he would break his nose, and fled on foot while continuing to curse. Following a chase captured live on camera, he was caught and taken into custody.
In Aksaray, on Ebulfeyz Elbey Street, teams from the Provincial Police Department Traffic Enforcement Branch stopped a car with cut coil springs and film on its windows during an operation.
PLEADED "DON'T EMBARRASS ME IN FRONT OF MY GIRLFRIEND"
The police officers checked the driving license and registration of the female driver Y.Ö. (19) and found during an inspection of the vehicle that the coil springs were cut and there was film on the windows. While initiating a penalty process, H.E.Ö. (18), who was a passenger in the car, asked the police officers to ignore it upon learning that a fine would be issued.
After sweet-talking the police officers for a while and saying, "Brother, don't embarrass me in front of my girlfriend," the young man got angry and started hurling insults when the officers continued the procedure. H.E.Ö. went onto the median, repeatedly swearing, "If you don't write, don't tie up," and threatened the journalist filming the incident multiple times, saying, "Don't film, man, I'll break your nose, look."
STARTED FLEEING AFTER THE INSULTS
When his girlfriend Y.Ö. came to the young man, who was being calmed by the watchmen, she grabbed him by the nape and pushed him away. The young girl also apologized to the police officers. However, as the young man continued his insults and threats, a police officer called him over for swearing. Thereupon, the man fled on foot while still cursing. The police officers chased H.E.Ö. on foot, and a chase began between the man and the police. After a 10-minute chase, the young man was caught in the same neighborhood without getting far.
7,716 LIRA FINE, TRAFFIC BAN, AND LEGAL PROCEEDINGS
Upon being caught, H.E.Ö. reacted to the journalist trying to film the incident and was to be placed in a police vehicle. Resisting the police officers and refusing to get into the vehicle, the man caused difficulties for the teams but was eventually put into the police car and taken into custody.
The driver was fined 7,716 lira for the cut coil springs and window film, while the vehicle was banned from traffic and taken to the impound lot via tow truck. Legal proceedings were initiated against H.E.Ö.
