A young man who climbed to the roof of an 8-story building in Ahlat district of Bitlis was brought down after hours of persuasion.

According to the information obtained, a young man named H.I. attempted suicide with a knife on the roof of a building in Ergezen Neighborhood of the district in the evening hours. While the police took security measures at the scene, 112 Emergency Health and fire brigade teams were on standby.

H.I., who was registered in Siirt and did not come down from the roof after long efforts, was persuaded by Ahlat District Police Chief Engin Tetik, District Mufti Cemal Oğraş, and a citizen. The young man, who was brought down from the roof after more than 3 hours of persuasion, was taken to Ahlat State Hospital by health teams. The crowd in the vicinity welcomed H.I., who came down from the roof, with applause.
