Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei held a critical meeting with senior military commanders after claims that a new conflict with the US could occur. Khamenei, requesting preparedness against possible attacks, gave the instruction: "Respond suddenly, effectively, and without recognizing geographical borders." It was reported that at the meeting the Iranian army's target list was updated and it was decided to include US and Israeli elements in the list.
While claims that a new military conflict could occur between Iran and the US remain on the agenda, a striking move came from Iran's leader Mojtaba Khamenei.
According to a written statement from the Iranian leader's office, Khamenei met with the country's senior military officials.
The meeting was attended by military officials including Iran's Chief of General Staff Ali Abdollahi, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army Major General Amir Hatami, and Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Major General Ahmad Vahidi.
At the meeting, preparations against possible attacks and the current status of the Iranian Armed Forces were discussed.
“RESPOND IMMEDIATELY, EFFECTIVELY, AND WITHOUT RECOGNIZING GEOGRAPHICAL BORDERS”
Khamenei instructed the military officials to be prepared against possible attacks.
It was stated that the Iranian leader wants the military response not to be delayed in the event of a new attack on his country.
Khamenei's instruction to the commanders was conveyed as follows:
“Give an immediate, effective response that recognizes no geographical borders.”
“WE DECIDE WHEN THE ATTACKS WILL END”
The Iranian leader also used harsh statements regarding the possibility of new military operations being carried out against his country.
Khamenei's statement included the following words:
“If the enemies once again resort to military or terrorist attacks, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Iranian nation will decide when and under what conditions these attacks will end.”
US AND ISRAELI ELEMENTS ADDED TO TARGET LIST
One of the most striking topics of the meeting was the updating of the Iranian Armed Forces' target list.
According to information conveyed from the Iranian leader's office, it was decided at the meeting to include all “material and spiritual” elements belonging to the US and Israel in the target list within Iran's strike range.
This decision is regarded as a striking development regarding the scope of the response Iran could give in a possible military conflict.
REPORT PRESENTED ON THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ AND THE SEA OF OMAN
At the meeting, Iranian commanders briefed Khamenei on military preparations in the country's strategic regions.
Reports were presented on the current status of military units stationed in the Strait of Hormuz, the Sea of Oman, and Iran's border regions.
The meeting also discussed the army's ammunition capacity and the readiness level of military units.
HE CALLED FOR INCREASING DEFENSE CAPACITY
Khamenei stated that Iran's domestic defense capacity needs to be strengthened in terms of both tactics and military doctrine.
The Iranian leader, who called for developing the country's security architecture by benefiting from new technologies, also expressed that work should be done to increase financial support provided to the armed forces.
