The new head coach of the Turkish National Football Team, Sergen Yalçın, has begun his work after signing a 4-year contract. The 53-year-old coach, who will first follow the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby from the stands, will then travel to Spain and Italy to meet with Arda Güler and Hakan Çalhanoğlu.
Sergen Yalçın, appointed by the Turkish Football Federation to take charge of the Turkish National Football Team in place of Vincenzo Montella, has taken his first steps in his new role. The experienced head coach, who signed a 4-year agreement with the crescent-star team, began working with his team in Riva and started shaping plans for the national team's upcoming period.
FIRST STOP: GALATASARAY-FENERBAHÇE DERBY
Sergen Yalçın's first schedule after taking office has also been announced. The experienced coach will watch the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derby, to be played at RAMS Park on Monday, from the stands. Yalçın will have the opportunity to closely follow the performances of players in the national team pool in the giant match.
WILL MEET WITH ARDA GÜLER AND HAKAN ÇALHANOĞLU
After the derby, Sergen Yalçın will go abroad and meet with two important names of the national team. Yalçın, who will first travel to Spain's capital Madrid to meet with Arda Güler, will then move on to Milan, Italy, to meet with Hakan Çalhanoğlu. The experienced coach is expected to share his plans for the national team's new era with the players during these meetings.
FIRST TEST AGAINST BELGIUM
The Turkish National Team will play its first match under Sergen Yalçın against Belgium on November 12. The crescent-star team will visit France on November 15. Before the two matches, Sergen Yalçın will both watch players in the Süper Lig and continue his contacts with national players playing in Europe.
