In the Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır, 60-year-old Kadri Başkan, who was walking on the road, was killed by gunfire from his adversary who had been following him in a car. Police launched a large-scale operation to capture the fleeing suspect.
Diyarbakır woke up to a bloody murder committed in the middle of the street. In the incident that occurred in the morning hours in the Şehitlik neighborhood of the Yenişehir district, 60-year-old Kadri Başkan was killed by gunfire from his adversary, who had been following him step by step.
FOLLOWED HIM STEP BY STEP, GOT OUT OF HIS VEHICLE AND OPENED FIRE
According to the information obtained; Kadri Başkan, who was walking alone on the road, was followed by a car driven by a person with whom he was known to have a previous feud. The suspect, who silently watched his target for a while, stopped his vehicle at a secluded spot and got out. Pulling out the gun he had with him, the attacker fired multiple shots at Başkan. The 60-year-old man, hit by the bullets, collapsed in a pool of blood on the street. The attacker then quickly fled the scene in his vehicle.
HEALTH TEAMS CONFIRMED HIS DEATH
Upon hearing the gunshots, the residents of the street immediately notified the police and health teams. In the examination conducted by the medical staff who arrived at the scene shortly after, it was determined that Kadri Başkan, who had sustained severe wounds in various parts of his body, had lost his life. Following the work of the crime scene investigation teams, Başkan's body was taken to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
HOMICIDE BUREAU IS ON HIS TRAIL
After the murder, teams from the Diyarbakır Provincial Security Directorate's Public Order Branch Directorate Homicide Bureau went on alert to catch the fleeing suspect. Examining the security camera footage in the area, police teams began efforts to capture the suspect. A multi-faceted investigation into the incident is ongoing.
