The individual, who killed his father by shooting him eight times with a pistol after an argument in Samsun's İlkadım district and then surrendered to the gendarmerie, was arrested by the court. KILLED HIS FATHER WITH 8 BULLETS
The incident occurred last evening in the Kadamut neighborhood of the İlkadım district. According to the information obtained, Doğan Can Y. (35), who works at the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality animal shelter, opened fire on his father İbrahim Y. (59) at home. İbrahim Y., who was reportedly retired from the Atakum Municipality and hit by 8 bullets, died at the scene. Upon the notification of Doğan Can Y., who surrendered at the İlkadım District Gendarmerie Command after shooting his father, gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The medical teams arriving at the house confirmed that İbrahim Y. had died. İbrahim Y.'s lifeless body was sent to the Samsun Forensic Medicine Institute Group Directorate for autopsy after the gendarmerie teams' investigation at the scene.
"I GOT SCARED AND FIRED WHEN MY FATHER ATTACKED ME WITH A KNIFE"
Doğan Can Y., who was reportedly single and the only child of the family, stated in his testimony, "My father drank a lot of alcohol. Even though I am 35 years old, he interfered in everything I did. He constantly argued with me. My psychology deteriorated due to his behavior. On the day of the incident, I didn't go to work and got a medical report. I wanted to walk around and clear my head. In the evening, an argument broke out in front of the house about the car bumper. He called me inside and said, 'let's make menemen.' At that time, I was helping my bedridden mother with her needs. He swore at me again, yelled, and threw the menemen pot. Then he went to the kitchen saying, 'I will kill both of you.' I thought he would kill us with a knife. I took my licensed gun from under the bed and put it in my waist. When my father attacked me with a knife, I got scared and fired. I don't know how many shots I fired" he said.

The murder suspect, whose interrogation at the gendarmerie was completed, was sent to Samsun Courthouse today. While Doğan Can Y., who was arrested by the duty court, was being taken to prison, he said at the courthouse exit, "I am very sorry. No one wants to kill their father. May God not let anyone endure this pain," which drew attention.
