A 63-year-old man from Turkmenistan, who was assaulted by his German national friend during a drinking session in Antalya, has died. The suspect, who stated in his testimony, "I just pushed him; he fell and hit his head on the concrete floor. We thought he had passed out and left him inside. We had no idea he was dead," has been arrested.
In a ground-floor apartment located on 22nd Street in the Liman neighborhood of Antalya's Konyaaltı district, a chilling incident occurred yesterday around 8:00 PM. Ibadulla Abdullayev (63), a citizen of Turkmenistan, began drinking at home with his friends Artur Kurz, a citizen of Germany, A.A. and I.V., both citizens of Ukraine, and two Ukrainian women, O.N. and T.Y.
ASSAULTED HIS FRIEND AND LEFT THE HOUSE After a while, Abdullayev and Kurz went outside to smoke. During this time, an argument broke out between the parties for an unknown reason. As the argument escalated, A.K. assaulted Ibadulla Abdullayev. A.A. and I.V., who lifted Abdullayev, who had lost consciousness and fallen to the ground due to blows to his head and body, later left the house.
DIED One of the Ukrainian women called the police around 10:30 PM, reporting that someone was lying motionless in the house. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the address shortly after. The medical team determined that Ibadulla Abdullayev had passed away. The crime scene investigation, Homicide Bureau, and the prosecutor's office initiated work on the matter. Abdullayev's lifeless body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for an autopsy after the investigations.
Ibadulla Abdullayev MURDER CLARIFIED In the investigation conducted by the Antalya Police Department's Homicide Bureau, it was determined that Ibadulla Abdullayev was a victim of murder. The teams initiated a comprehensive investigation after discovering injuries on Abdullayev's forehead and above his eyebrow. As a result of the investigation, the Homicide Bureau teams detained Artur Kurz, A.A., I.V., and two Ukrainian women who were identified as having drunk alcohol together with Abdullayev before he was killed. It was determined that the women had no connection to the incident, that Kurz had assaulted Abdullayev, and that A.A. and I.V. had assisted in carrying him. After the teams took their statements, the women were released.
"I JUST PUSHED HIM, I DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS DEAD" After their procedures at the police station, Artur Kurz, A.A., and I.V. were referred to the courthouse. In his statement, Kurz said, "We drank alcohol together in the evening. When we went outside, an argument broke out between us. I just pushed him, and he fell and hit his head on the concrete floor. When he fell, he was breathing. We thought he was passed out and left him inside. He had passed out like this before when we drank. We thought he would call us when he woke up. We had no idea he was dead. What I did was just push him," it was learned.
ARRESTED Artur Kurz was arrested by the on-duty magistrate, while the other suspects A.A. and I.V. were released under judicial control conditions.
