In a dispute in Beyoğlu, father Tamer Kaya shot and killed his son Uğur Kaya in the chest with a gun, then committed suicide with the same weapon. It has been learned that Tamer Kaya had recently told his relatives that he would kill both himself and his son.

Tamer Kaya (52), who shot and killed his son Uğur Kaya (33) during an argument at home in Beyoğlu, then committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with the same gun.

It was learned that Tamer Kaya, who called his sister an hour before the incident and said he would kill both his son and himself, was found by his niece Meral P. when she checked the house at her mother's warning. The police investigation revealed that Uğur Kaya, who lived with his mother, had come to his father's house from Erzincan a few days earlier.

The incident occurred around 6:15 PM yesterday in the Sütlüce neighborhood. According to the information obtained; Uğur Kaya, who lived with his mother Zübeyde M. (49) in Erzincan, came to his father Tamer Kaya's house a few days ago. A dispute broke out between the father and son in the evening hours after they started living together. In the ensuing fight, father Tamer Kaya shot his son Uğur Kaya in the chest with a gun. Tamer Kaya then committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with the same gun.

FOUND THE BODIES AFTER CHECKING THE HOUSE

After the incident, Tamer Kaya's sister Süreyya K. (56), unable to reach him, told her daughter Meral P. (37) to check on her uncle's house. The person Meral P. let in through the window saw that two people were motionless and lying in blood inside the house. Upon this, Meral P. reported the situation to the police and health teams. When the health teams arrived at the scene with the police, they determined that the father and son had lost their lives.

Following this, the police teams initiated an investigation. In the work of the crime scene investigation teams, it was determined that Uğur Kaya was shot twice in the chest and then Tamer Kaya shot himself in the head once. It was also found that Uğur Kaya had a record at the Psychiatry and Neurology Hospital. Psychiatric medications were also found in the house. It was learned that Uğur Kaya had 10 criminal records with the police, while his father Tamer Kaya had 1. The unlicensed firearm used in the incident was also seized.

Meral P. expressed that she did not take her uncle's words seriously, stating that an hour before the incident, Tamer Kaya called his mother Süreyya K. and said he would commit suicide, and that her mother then asked her to check the house. Upon arriving at her uncle's house, Meral P. noticed that the door was locked from the back, and when she let a person in through the window, she learned about the incident. After the examination by the public prosecutor, the lifeless bodies of the father and son were taken to the morgue of the Forensic Medicine Institution by a funeral vehicle. The police launched an investigation into the incident.
