The Ministry of National Education (MEB) stated that the claims that "152.4 million lira will be spent on imam hatip high schools by 2027, and a loan has been obtained from the German Development Bank for the project" do not reflect the truth.

The Ministry of National Education denied claims that 152.4 million lira would be spent on imam hatip high schools. The ministry stated that the budget allocated for the project is 67 million 470 thousand lira and that the information regarding a loan from the German Development Bank is false.

DENIAL OF THE CLAIM "152 MILLION LIRA LOAN FOR IMAM HATIP HIGH SCHOOLS"

A written statement was made by the ministry regarding the claims published in a national newspaper and on social media accounts, stating, "Despite the failure of imam hatip high schools, millions of lira are being allocated. In this context, 152.4 million lira will be spent on imam hatip high schools by 2027, a loan was taken from the German Development Bank for the project, and the ministry's own resources were also used."

THE CLAIM THAT A LOAN WAS TAKEN FROM THE GERMAN DEVELOPMENT BANK IS NOT TRUE

In the statement reporting that the claims made in the news and shared content are false, it was noted: "A total of 67 million 470 thousand lira has been allocated for the 'Research and Development and Project Studies Aimed at Increasing the Success of Imam Hatip Schools' carried out within the scope of Public Investment Programs between 2020-2026. The budget for the project in 2026 is projected to be 40 million lira. The claim that 'a loan was taken from the German Development Bank' is absolutely not true.

Moreover, the project activities carried out within the mentioned schools encompass not only exam success but also guidance and support, the development of reading culture, culture-art and literature programs, student exchange activities, digital content production, artificial intelligence-supported educational applications, and multidimensional educational activities in terms of participation in projects such as TÜBİTAK and TEKNOFEST.

On the other hand, it is noteworthy that despite a denial statement published by the Presidency's Communication Directorate's Disinformation Combat Center on March 13, 2025, regarding the aforementioned news, the news is being served again in the same way, which is neither ethical nor in line with press principles. The figures used in the news, which is clearly written with a 'divisive' intent towards school types, have no relation whatsoever to the ministry's data. We strongly request that such news, which occupies the agenda and disturbs the public conscience, not be taken seriously.
