In the Devrek district of Zonguldak, K.B., who was keeping watch for wild boars damaging a cornfield, allegedly mistook a silhouette he saw in the dark for a boar and opened fire. It was understood that the person shot was his cousin Kenan Basan (51), and despite all interventions, Basan, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life.
In the Devrek district of Zonguldak, a man who was standing watch to hunt wild boars that had entered a cornfield shot and killed his 51-year-old cousin, mistaking him for a boar in the dark. Following the incident, the suspect was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams.
BOAR WATCH IN THE CORNFIELD
The incident occurred in the Akcasu village of the Devrek district in Zonguldak. According to the information obtained, 50-year-old K.B. began waiting in the area of the cornfield to hunt wild boars that were damaging the crops in the fields.
FAILED TO RECOGNIZE HIS COUSIN AND OPENED FIRE
After a while, K.B. noticed movement in the field but could not realize that the person in the area was his uncle's son, Kenan Basan (51). According to the claim, K.B., mistaking the silhouette in the field for a wild boar, fired his weapon at the target.
COULD NOT BE SAVED DESPITE ALL INTERVENTIONS
After the gunshots were noticed, emergency health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. Kenan Basan, who was seriously injured by the bullet that hit his body, was taken to Devrek State Hospital by ambulance after initial intervention by health teams at the scene. However, Basan could not be saved despite all interventions by doctors at the hospital and lost his life.
SUSPECT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY
K.B., who caused his cousin's death, was taken into custody by gendarmerie teams immediately after the incident. While the suspect, taken to the station, was undergoing procedures, the comprehensive investigation launched into the tragic incident continues.
