In Eskişehir, a 66-year-old man who fell asleep under the influence of alcohol after putting pasta on the stove was awakened and brought outside by police and fire crews who entered through the balcony after smoke rose from the apartment.
THE REPORT BY NEIGHBORS WHO SAW THE SMOKE PREVENTED A POSSIBLE DISASTER
The incident occurred in an apartment building on Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Street in the İstiklal Neighborhood. According to information obtained, 66-year-old S.S., residing in the apartment on the 2nd floor, fell asleep under the influence of alcohol after putting pasta on the stove.
After neighbors who noticed the smoke rising from the apartment when the pot on the stove caught fire reported it, teams from the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, police, medical, and AFAD teams were dispatched to the scene. When the door was not opened, police and fire crews entered the residence through the balcony and intervened in the fire. The teams woke up S.S., who was sleeping inside, and brought him out of the house. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
HE ASKED THE TEAMS, "HOW MUCH DO I OWE?"
The elderly man, who nearly escaped death, refused to go to the hospital and receive treatment after the medical teams' initial intervention at the scene. S.S., who told police officers how the incident happened, said that he had fought with his friend, then fell asleep because he had drunk alcohol while wanting to make pasta, and that his health condition was good. On the other hand, it was noteworthy that S.S. asked the police officers who rescued him, "How much do I owe?"
