In the Iraqi Parliament's election of deputy prime ministers and vacant ministries, a candidate from the Iraqi Turkmen Front was elected as a minister of state for the first time. The President of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Mehmet Seman Ağa, who was elected Governor of Kirkuk in April, this time became a minister of state. Ağa's resignation is expected on Monday, October 19; one of the ITC's 3 candidates will be elected governor in his place.

MEHMET SEMAN AGHA BECAME MINISTER OF STATE
In April, after 100 years, Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITC) President Mehmet Seman Agha, who was elected to the post of Governor of Kirkuk, was appointed by the Iraqi Parliament to the post of minister of state.
Agha is expected to submit his resignation from the Governorship to the Kirkuk Provincial Council on Monday, October 19. Later, one of the 3 candidates that the Iraqi Turkmen Front will submit to the Kirkuk Provincial Council will again be elected to the post of Governor of Kirkuk.
"WE WILL DO OUR DUTY PROPERLY"
In accordance with the rotating governorship agreement reached among the Turkmen, Kurdish and Arab political coalitions in Kirkuk, the governorship will remain with the Turkmens until the end of this year.
ITC President Agha, who was elected to the ministry of state, used the following statements in his Turkish post from his account on the social media platform of the US-based company X:
"May it be auspicious for Iraq and our Turkmen nation. We will do our duty properly, God willing. May God not shame us!"
