Tarık Mizra Bişgin from Konya, who achieved a perfect score of 500 in the central exam within the High School Transition System (LGS) and ranked among the top in Turkey, stated that the secret to his success lies in studying consistently and not succumbing to the allure of a social circle. Bişgin said, 'The exam is essentially a psychological game. If you manage this game well, success is inevitable.'
With the announcement of the results of the High School Transition System (LGS) exam held on June 13 by the Ministry of National Education, 14-year-old Tarık Mizra Bişgin, a student at Ahmet Yesevi Secondary School who scored a perfect 500 and became one of Turkey's top scorers, explained that he sacrificed his social life and many activities during the exam process.
IT'S NOT THE SMARTEST, BUT THE MOST CONSISTENT WHO WINS Bişgin said, "When we take the exam, we are 14 years old, which is precisely the time we most want to go out and play. Actually, the exam starts here. LGS is not just about 2.5 hours. During those times, I need to not go out and play, but really sit at the desk, focus, and study so that we can succeed. This requires consistency; it's not the smartest, but the most consistent who wins. Being smart is not enough on its own. For 1.5 years, you truly need to master your own desires."
"MASTERING ONE'S DESIRES IS TRULY IMPORTANT" Tarık Mizra Bişgin, who said he distanced himself from social environments for the exam, stated, "Staying away from both social media and going out is really a big issue. LGS is in the summer months; the last month before LGS is in May, which is the beautiful time of spring. You want to go out and play ball, but then those who sit at the table become the winners. So, the exam is actually a psychological game. If you manage this game well, success is inevitable. I had friends who spent a lot of time on social media; of course, you shouldn't follow them, you need to set your own limits. There were those who called me to play, but I didn't go. I always turned down invitations like 'Let's watch videos, let's watch movies,' and you have to say 'stop' to these. In the summer, after LGS, you can do whatever you want; there is a 3-month holiday period. So, mastering one's desires during that time is truly important. This exam is temporary; whether you do well or poorly, life goes on. It is just one step in life. But still, I think it is very important to do this exam in the best way you can. If you have worked consistently for 1.5 years until this exam, it means you have already succeeded. It means you have learned to work, be consistent, and be disciplined in life. You have already won; you can enter the exam with a clear mind."
"AS A FAMILY, WE PROVIDED HIM WITH THE NECESSARY GUIDANCE SUPPORT AT HOME" His father, Orhan Bişgin, said, "Our son is in his teenage years; we believe he can handle this on his own. However, there needs to be a guidance aspect. Both institutions, school and tutoring center, and we as a family provided him with the necessary guidance support at home. My wife and I, both university graduates, help our son. We check the questions he solves and if there are any deficiencies, we supplement them. For instance, one day while checking, he had fallen asleep in the evening. Around 1 AM, my wife and I decided to check the books. We saw that he had solved hardly half of the target number. He hadn't solved them. Instead of telling him in the morning, we directly woke him up and said, 'Son, how can you sleep without solving these questions?' We told him he needed to solve the questions again, and in the morning, he didn't let us down and continued. In life, we always say this: If you want to be comfortable for the rest of your life, you need to sacrifice a part of your life. We psychologically emphasized this every day."
