Lawyer Kayhan Yıldırım, who beat his mother to death in Kahramanmaraş, was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for "deliberate killing with monstrous feelings of torture against a relative." No reduction in the sentence was applied due to Yıldırım's attitude and behavior during the trial, which showed no remorse for the crime.
In March 2025, a chilling incident occurred in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of Elbistan district in Kahramanmaraş. Neighbors of Gül Yıldırım (65) called the police, reporting that they had heard sounds of fighting coming from her house for several days, but the noises had stopped for a while, and the woman had not come outside. Upon the notification, the police went to the house with health teams. When the teams entered, they found Yıldırım lying motionless on the floor.
LAWYER BEAT HIS MOTHER TO DEATH
Gül Yıldırım, who was taken to Elbistan State Hospital and determined to have been severely beaten during the examinations, could not be saved despite all the interventions of the doctors. In the investigation initiated regarding the incident, the police detained the woman's lawyer son, Kayhan Yıldırım.
After his procedures at the police station, Yıldırım was arrested and sent to prison at the courthouse he was referred to. At the end of the investigation, a case was filed against Kayhan Yıldırım at the Elbistan Heavy Penal Court for 'deliberately killing with monstrous feelings by torturing against a relative' with a request for aggravated life imprisonment.

During the trial, the detained defendant Yıldırım stated that he had no intention of killing his mother and appeared before the judge one last time at the sentencing hearing. Repeating his previous defenses, Kayhan Yıldırım was sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for 'deliberately killing with monstrous feelings by torturing against a relative' due to the manner of the crime, the tools used in the commission of the crime, and the place where the crime was committed.
NO SIGN OF REMORSE
While sentencing, no reduction was applied due to Kayhan Yıldırım's 'personality observed during the trial and his attitude and behavior showing no remorse after the crime.'
