İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu reacted sharply to Abdullah Öcalan’s being moved to a new place built for him in İmralı. Showing photographs of the graves of martyred teachers Neşe Alten and Aybüke Yalçın at his party’s group meeting in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Dervişoğlu said, “Their place is the same, but you put their murderer in a detached house with a garden, did you? The ground is ashamed, the sky is ashamed, the nation is ashamed, but you are not ashamed in the slightest.”
İYİ Party Chairman Dervişoğlu criticized the government’s economic policies and the terror-free Turkey process at the group meeting held in Parliament. At the meeting, which was also attended by some victims of the fund crisis, Dervişoğlu said they set out believing that there can be no democracy in Turkey without democracy within the party.
“WE OPPOSED NEGOTIATIONS WITH TERROR”
Dervişoğlu stated that they stand against an understanding that divides society in two and treats 50 percent plus one’s vote as a license to do anything, and argued that the system that ties the nation’s freedom, prosperity and happiness to one person’s political fortune must change. Expressing that they want social and economic confidence to be ensured at home and peace and security abroad together, Dervişoğlu continued as follows:
“We opposed negotiations with terror and exchanges with terrorists. Events have occurred such that trust in politics and politicians has been dragged further down with each passing day. Wherever we stood yesterday, we stand in the same place today. When it comes to Turkey and the Turkish nation, we will neither take a step back nor deviate from our path. ”
Also referring in his speech to Sheikh Edebali’s advice to Osman Bey, Dervişoğlu repeated from the podium the provision in the Orkhon Inscriptions: “As long as heaven above does not collapse and the earth below does not break open, no one can corrupt the Turkish nation’s realm and customs.”
“WE WILL DEMAND YOUR RIGHTS TO THE LAST PENNY”
Addressing the fund victims, Dervişoğlu recounted a conversation he had with a retired teacher who had deposited her bonus into the fund. Conveying that the teacher asked him, “To whose hands did the state leave me?”, Dervişoğlu said: “This government unfortunately imposed the following on that generation: the honest lose, those close to power win. I am answering that teacher from the podium of the Gazi Parliament: We will not leave you or millions of our citizens to anyone. We will demand your rights to the last penny.”
“173 BILLION DOLLARS EVAPORATED IN THE STOCK MARKET IN TWO MONTHS”
Describing the fund crisis as “the corruption of the century,” Dervişoğlu argued that the effects of the crisis were not limited to the funds. Claiming that there had been a loss of 173 billion dollars in value on the stock market in two months, Dervişoğlu asserted that insurance companies had set aside provisions and pension funds had been shaken. Dervişoğlu said: “They still tell us that ‘there will be those who make mistakes in some practices.’ A mistake? A mistake happens once. What has grown blatantly for years is not called a mistake; it is a system. And both the architect and the guardian of that system are the 25-year Recep Tayyip Erdoğan government.”
Stating that they had warned about the crisis in advance, Dervişoğlu recalled that on October 22, 2025, he said from the Parliament podium that those engaged in manipulation must be held accountable. Dervişoğlu noted that on November 12, 2025, he warned the Minister of Treasury and Finance and the Chairman of the CMB by name.
“WHERE WAS THE CMB, WHERE WAS MASAK?”
Claiming that the CMB, Borsa Istanbul, the BRSA and Takasbank did not fulfill their duties, Dervişoğlu argued that no institution could turn a blind eye for such a long time without the permission of the political will. Dervişoğlu posed the following questions:
“Where was the CMB while fund prices were inflating like a balloon? Where was MASAK while money was entering the country from offshore accounts disguised as foreign investors? Where was your conscience when your own deputy chairperson’s name was involved and you said, ‘He resigned, it’s over’? Whom were those hands protecting when they rose to say ‘no’ to our request for a parliamentary inquiry commission? What were you waiting for with the delayed detentions? Were you weeding names out of lists?”
Calling for the audit files to be opened, Dervişoğlu asked that it be shared with the public which risk was identified on which date and before whom the reports were placed.
“THIS MONEY IS NOT A FAVOR”
Recalling that President Erdoğan announced in October that principal payments of up to 1 million lira would begin, Dervişoğlu claimed that the payments made were at most 250 thousand lira and an average of 124 thousand lira. Dervişoğlu said: “The promise made from the pinnacle of the state was reduced to a pittance with three-penny payments. This money is not a favor; it is a right usurped with your connivance. Delivering this right is also the government’s debt of honor.”
“THE FUND HEIST IS THE NAME OF A COLLAPSE”
Describing the fund heist as “the name not of an accident but of a collapse,” Dervişoğlu claimed that the government now manages not the economy but the wreckage of the economy. Claiming that a significant portion of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce members had been suspended because they could not pay their dues or had ceased operations, Dervişoğlu argued that many sectors, from olive growing to transportation and from textiles to small manufacturing, were on the verge of running out of breath. Dervişoğlu also relayed the words of a producer complaining about the drop in olive prices.
“OUR YOUTH ARE SEEKING THEIR FUTURE IN OTHER LANDS”
Also touching on TÜSİAD Chairman Ozan Diren’s warning regarding “Made in Europe” regulations, Dervişoğlu said that if Turkey remains outside these regulations, market losses could occur in many sectors, from automotive to steel and from aluminum to batteries. Drawing attention to brain drain, Dervişoğlu said: “Those young people are not leaving because they do not love this country; they are leaving because they see that labor, merit and honesty do not find their due in this country. It is not this country that is expelling our youth, but the system of incompetence and plunder established by this government.”
“THIS BUDGET IS A COLLAPSE BUDGET”
Also criticizing the 2027 budget discussed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Plan and Budget Committee, Dervişoğlu argued that the budget brought to Parliament was a “collapse budget.” Dervişoğlu said: “A government that cannot find the money of the fund victim, cannot roll over the tradesman’s loan, and leaves the pensioner’s salary below the hunger threshold does not have the credibility to make the nation’s budget. You said, ‘We will establish the Presidential Government System’; you established a system of plunder. This system of plunder, built by stepping on the backs of producers, will be buried in history by this nation at the first ballot box.”
“IF WE ARE LEARNING FROM MESSENGERS WHERE A PRISONER IS BEING HELD. ”
Dervişoğlu stated that they learned that Abdullah Öcalan had been moved to the new place built for him on İmralı not from the Ministry of Justice but from the İmralı delegation. Dervişoğlu said: “If we are learning from messengers where a prisoner is being held, that means the state has rotted there. How a convict sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment will serve his sentence is determined not by the administration but by the law.”
Recalling that he had previously said from the podium, “If you have no shame, hold a group meeting on İmralı,” Dervişoğlu said: “They have no shame; apparently they had long since prepared the hall and even built a residence next to it.”
Dervişoğlu, claiming that the process was being carried out hidden from the public, argued that the commission gathered behind closed doors.
“WE KNOW WHAT A TERROR-FREE TURKEY IS FROM OUR MARTYRS”
Dervişoğlu, claiming that the process advanced step by step through debates over “right to hope,” “let him come to Parliament and speak,” “status,” and “new place,” said, “They called it ‘Terror-Free Turkey,’ but there is no terror-free Turkey in sight; there is a dishonorable bargain in which the terrorist leader is being moved step by step to the center of politics. We know what a Terror-Free Turkey is from our martyrs and veterans.”
SHOWED PHOTOS OF THE MARTYRS
Dervişoğlu, showing from the podium photographs of the graves of martyr teachers Neşe Alten and Aybüke Yalçın, said the following:
“Look carefully at this photo. Martyr teacher Neşe Alten and her father are still under this cold tombstone. Martyr teacher Aybüke Yalçın is still under these carnations. These are also unplastered martyr houses. The martyr’s child still clings to this stone as he misses his father. The mothers and fathers of our martyrs are still struggling to survive in these unplastered houses. Their place is the same, but you took their killer to a detached house with a garden, right? The ground is ashamed, the sky is ashamed, the nation is ashamed, but you are not ashamed at all. Shame on you, shame on you, shame on you. Know this: not long left. This nation will bury you in the ballot box and that terrorist in İmralı.”
