It was determined that an individual working as an auxiliary municipal police officer at the Ceyhan Municipality was selling narcotics in a municipal booth.
POISON TRADE IN MUNICIPAL BOOTH
The incident was uncovered as a result of meticulous intelligence work by the Ceyhan District Police Department teams. The teams took action upon serious allegations that drug sales were being conducted in a booth belonging to the municipality, located in City Square, one of the district's busiest points. The police, who had been conducting physical and technical surveillance for a while, identified the person using the booth for poison trade as T.B. (29), who worked as an auxiliary municipal police officer at the Ceyhan Municipality.
CAUGHT RED-HANDED
The police teams pressed the button and caught the suspect, T.B., red-handed during a successful operation carried out while he was on duty. In detailed searches conducted on the suspect and in the duty booth where he was on watch, narcotics were seized. T.B., who was apprehended and taken into custody, was taken to the Ceyhan District Police Department for initial procedures. After his questioning at the police station was completed, he was referred to the courthouse, and he was arrested by the court he was brought before and sent to prison.
IMMEDIATE ACTION FROM THE MUNICIPALITY
Following this incident, the Ceyhan Municipality administration quickly took action and made administrative steps. In a statement made by the institution, it was reported that the personnel involved in the incident were immediately dismissed from their duties and that the municipality filed an official complaint with the prosecutor's office regarding the individual.
