The events for the 955th anniversary of the Malazgirt Victory, celebrated this year in the Ahlat district of Bitlis, began with the opening of events held at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan National Garden. Ahlat Mayor Yavuz Gulmez, who inspected the event area that will last from August 23 to 25, announced that following the program in which President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will participate, the Cabinet Meeting will also be held in Ahlat for the third time this year.
Preparations have been completed in the Ahlat district of Bitlis within the scope of the 955th anniversary events of the Malazgirt Victory.
Bitlis Governor Ahmet Karakaya came to the Recep Tayyip Erdogan National Garden to inspect the latest status of the preparations and to visit the tents in the area. Governor Karakaya was welcomed here by cavalry units and motorized teams. Governor Karakaya, who took souvenir photos with the participants of the events, then visited the Bitlis Governorate tent together with Ahlat District Governor Özgür Kaya and Ahlat Mayor Yavuz Gulmez.
50 THEMATIC TENTS SET UP
Ahlat Mayor Yavuz Gulmez, who made statements before the program, said that 50 thematic tents were set up in the area along with the khan tent, and that guests from different parts of the world would be hosted as well as institutions, non-governmental organizations, and municipalities. Stating that different cultures, traditions, and values of the Turkish and Islamic world would be brought together with young people at the events, Gulmez noted that various competitions, as well as gastronomy events, SoloTurk and Steel Wings shows, would be held. Gulmez stated that the Kokboru final would also be held in Ahlat and that it was planned for the final organization to be held in Ahlat in the coming years by the Traditional Equestrian Sports Federation.
"CABINET MEETING WILL BE HELD IN AHLAT AGAIN"
Ahlat Mayor Yavuz Gulmez stated that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan would address the world from the event area on August 25, and that the Cabinet Meeting would be held in Ahlat for the third time. Gulmez said, "Our President will address the world from this area and will have messages for the world. Afterwards, the Cabinet Meeting has been held in Ahlat for the past two years. This year, we will hopefully gather the Cabinet in Ahlat again and be instrumental in making important decisions. We will see off our President to Malazgirt on August 26, the day the conquest took place."
The events held on the anniversary of the Malazgirt Victory will continue on August 25 with the participation of President Erdogan. Following President Erdogan's program, the ceremonies to be held in Malazgirt on August 26 will take place.
