In the Konyaaltı district of Antalya, 44-year-old İlhan Kaval, who had come from Van to visit his older brother, was attacked with gunfire in front of the house while driving his car. Kaval, who was severely injured, died in the hospital. While the attacker fled on foot, it was determined that 13 shots were fired in connection with the incident. Kaval's sister-in-law rebelled with the words, 'Is this humanity, is this barbarism? Is this humanity? This can never be humanity.'
A 44-year-old man who came to Antalya from Van to visit his brother was seriously injured in an armed attack while moving in his car. The man, who was taken to the hospital, lost his life despite all interventions, while the attacker fled on foot. The man's aunt, who came upon hearing the incident, cried out, "Is this humanity, is this barbarism? Is this humanity? This can never be humanity."
ATTACKED INSIDE THE CAR
The incident occurred around 11:00 on 272 Street, Hurma Neighborhood, Konyaaltı district. İlhan Kaval (44), who works for the Van Metropolitan Municipality, came to Antalya to visit his brother. While Kaval was moving in his car with license plate 34 CHE 001 near his brother's apartment building, he was attacked by an unidentified person with a firearm. The attacker, who fired repeatedly at the car, fled the scene on foot. Kaval, who was hit by bullets in various parts of his body, remained in the car in serious condition.
LOST HIS LIFE
Health and police teams were dispatched to the address after bystanders reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. After initial medical intervention, Kaval was taken to the hospital but lost his life despite all efforts by doctors. Meanwhile, neighbors stated that the alleged shooter had been waiting near the scene for a long time before the attack.
After the incident, the area was cordoned off with security tape, while teams from the public prosecutor's office, the Antalya Provincial Police Department's Public Order Branch Directorate Homicide Bureau, and the Crime Scene Investigation Branch Directorate conducted work. Initial investigations at the scene suggested that 13 shots were fired during the attack.
RELATIVES BURST INTO TEARS
Kaval's father and aunt came to the scene and shed tears. His aunt reacted with the words, "May God curse you. Is this humanity, is this barbarism? Is this humanity? This can never be humanity," while his father also remained at the scene for a long time.
On the other hand, it was learned that there was a feud between the Kaval family and the alleged attacker, and that the family had moved to different cities from Van for this reason. The moments when the attacker fled the scene were recorded on a phone camera.
İlhan Kaval's body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for an autopsy. Police teams continue their efforts to capture the suspect.
