06.09.2024 10:00

As search efforts continue for 8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21, suspicious findings were discovered during searches conducted in the cemetery. However, it is still unknown whether these findings belong to Narin or not.

The search for 8-year-old Narin Güran, who went missing on August 21 in Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district in Diyarbakır, continues without disrupting the current HTML. No results have been obtained yet from the extensive search conducted in the area for over two weeks. However, a new phase has now been initiated in the search efforts. The teams, who have scanned the area multiple times so far, have restarted their efforts in order to find any possible clue or overlooked evidence related to Narin.

SEARCH IN 4 POINTS WITH SATELLITE PHOTOGRAPH

The search efforts, coordinated by Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie Command, will cover the entire area from scratch. The search operations have been intensified in four different areas surrounding the village. Expert teams have marked these points on the satellite photograph of Tavşantepe village, where Narin is likely to be found.

11,000 SQUARE METERS AREA TO BE SEARCHED AGAIN

The search operations are being conducted from scratch, with a focus on these points. 2,000 personnel, two helicopters, and 48 drones will scan the 11,000 square meter area using the method of narrowing down the circle. Experts state that the region will be searched from scratch for the 8th time in order to re-examine every possible detail that might have been overlooked.

SPECIAL TEAM JOINED THE SEARCH EFFORTS

According to DW Türkçe's Felat Bozarslan, a special team consisting of search and rescue, intelligence, interrogation technique experts, and pedagogues is continuing their work on a 24-hour basis. A special team sent by the General Command of Gendarmerie has also joined the search efforts in Diyarbakır.

SUSPICIOUS FINDINGS IN THE CEMETERY

A different search operation was conducted in Tavşantepe neighborhood cemetery yesterday. Aselsan's underground imaging devices were used to scan the old and new graves in the cemetery in search of any trace related to Narin. As a result of the search, the teams came across some suspicious findings. However, it is not yet known whether these findings belong to Narin. The findings have been sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute for examination.

WILL NARIN'S UNCLE BE RELEASED?

The investigation initiated by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding Narin's disappearance is still ongoing. So far, statements have been taken from more than 60 individuals, 8 of whom are suspects. Interrogation experts are trying to resolve the conflicting points in the statements and have questioned some individuals multiple times. Narin's uncle, S.G., was arrested 4 days ago on charges of "intentional homicide" and "deprivation of liberty". However, the Güran family does not believe that S.G. is guilty. The family's lawyer, Seda Toğrul, will file an objection to the arrest decision regarding S.G. with the Peace Criminal Court on Friday. The court is required to make a decision within three days after the application to the Peace Criminal Court. The court may decide to release S.G. or to continue his detention. However, the investigation will continue.
