Contracted Infantry Private Yusuf Sait Ünlü, who was wounded by gunfire during an intervention in a border-crossing incident in the Yüksekova district of Hakkari, was martyred.
In the Yüksekova district of Hakkari, within the area of responsibility of the 7th Border Brigade Command, fire was opened on October 31 during intervention in a border crossing incident. As a result of the fire opened, Contracted Infantry Private Yusuf Sait Ünlü was wounded.
HE WAS MARTYRED AT THE HOSPITAL
The wounded soldier was taken by helicopter to Hakkari State Hospital. Ünlü, who was placed under treatment here, could not be saved despite all the doctors' interventions and was martyred.
CONDOLENCE MESSAGE FROM THE MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE
The statement made by the Ministry of National Defense included the following words:
"Our brother-in-arms, Contracted Infantry Private Yusuf Sait Ünlü, who was wounded by fire opened during intervention in a border crossing incident on October 31 in the Yüksekova Hakkari region of the 7th Border Brigade Command, could not be saved despite all interventions at Hakkari State Hospital, where he was taken by helicopter, and was martyred. In this incident that has plunged us into deep pain and sorrow, we pray to God for mercy for our dear martyr who lost his life, and offer our condolences and patience to his grieving family, the Turkish Armed Forces, and our noble nation."
