Moments when roads turned into lakes and drivers tried to move through puddles were captured on camera.

The severe downpour that was effective in Istanbul during the evening hours negatively affected life, especially on the Anatolian Side. In Pendik and Tuzla, streets and avenues were quickly covered with water, while long vehicle queues formed in traffic. Drivers had difficulty progressing on roads that had turned into lakes. Moments when vehicles struggled to move among puddles were captured on camera.

THE DOWNPOUR BEGAN AFTER METEOROLOGY'S WARNING

Following the warnings of the General Directorate of Meteorology, the heavy rainfall that took Istanbul under its influence in the evening hours showed its effect in many districts. Especially on the Anatolian Side, due to the downpour that quickly increased in intensity, dense water accumulation formed on streets and avenues.

ROADS TURNED INTO LAKES IN PENDİK AND TUZLA

In Pendik's Aydos, Çamçeşme, and Yenişehir neighborhoods and Tuzla's Aydınlı neighborhood, where the rainfall was effective, roads were covered with water. At some points, as the water rose, vehicles had to move almost inside the water. Drivers tried to move cautiously on roads that had turned into lakes.

TRAFFIC DENSITY ROSE TO 90 PERCENT

The severe rainfall also caused traffic congestion on the Anatolian Side. Due to vehicles moving slowly on roads covered with puddles, congestion was experienced in traffic. At moments when density reached 90 percent, drivers experienced difficult times due to both reduced visibility and water accumulating on the roads.

THOSE MOMENTS WERE CAPTURED ON CAMERA

In the footage recorded in Pendik and Tuzla, it was seen that vehicles had difficulty moving on roads covered with water, and at some points water flowed along the avenue. The flooding and traffic congestion caused by the downpour were reflected on cameras second by second.
