WHAT HAPPENED?
Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım was detained and arrested as part of a 'bribery' investigation. On March 31, he was suspended from duty by a decision of the Ministry of Interior.
Meanwhile, CHP Spokesperson Zeynel Emre announced that Uşak Mayor Özkan Yalım had been referred for disciplinary action. Emre stated, "As the Central Executive Board, it was decided to suspend Özkan Yalım's membership, appoint two legal experts, and then conduct a disciplinary process by listening to what Özkan Yalım has to say, regardless of the outcome of the decision." Subsequently, the CHP referred Yalım for disciplinary action with a request for his expulsion.
As part of the process, the Uşak Governorship announced that the election for the deputy mayor would be held on April 6 at 14:00 in the Municipal Council Meeting Hall.
