While reactions to the "absolute nullity" decision regarding the CHP congress continue, statements from a CHP member claiming to be Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's neighbor of 15 years drew attention. The party member said, "Suppose there is fraud in that congress. The same delegates twice confirmed Özgür Özel's chairmanship. As the grassroots, we are saddened." The CHP member also argued that Özgür Özel is doing good opposition and stated that YSK decisions are final.
While the 38th Ordinary Congress of the CHP and the "absolute nullity" decision issued by the Ankara Regional Court of Justice 36th Civil Chamber remain on the political agenda, reactions from the party base are growing. Following the decision, former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's announcement that he would accept the position again and the CHP administration's declaration that they do not recognize the decision have raised tensions within the party.
As debates continue, statements from a CHP member claiming to be Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's neighbor of 15 years drew attention. The party member reacted to the court decision, stating that Özgür Özel's chairmanship had been repeatedly confirmed by delegates.
"I LISTEN TO THE VOICE OF MY CONSCIENCE"
The CHP member, who said he is Kılıçdaroğlu's neighbor, stated, "I am his neighbor of 15 years. I am a party member. I listen to the voice of my conscience. Mr. Özgür Özel is doing good opposition."
"THE SAME DELEGATES CONFIRMED HIM TWICE MORE"
Drawing attention to the congresses held after the convention, the party member said, "Suppose there are irregularities or various claims at that congress. The same delegates confirmed Özgür Özel's chairmanship twice more. Most of these delegates were elected during Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu's term."
"SUPREME ELECTION COUNCIL DECISIONS ARE FINAL"
Emphasizing the decisions of the Supreme Election Council in his statement, the CHP member criticized the court's decision by saying, "Are the decisions of the Supreme Election Council final? They are final."
INCREASING SUPPORT STATEMENTS WITHIN THE PARTY
Following the decision, the number of names supporting Özgür Özel within the CHP is also increasing. Former Youth Branch General Chair Gençosman Killik and Aylin Nazlıaka announced that they would not accept a return to their former positions based on the court decision.
Meanwhile, extraordinary activity continues at CHP Headquarters. While Özgür Özel called the Central Executive Board for another meeting, he also held critical negotiations with CHP metropolitan municipality mayors. The party administration also pulled two buses to the headquarters entrance against possible police and TOMA interventions.
As support messages for the CHP continue to come from opposition parties, the activity in politics and markets following the decision remains at the top of Turkey's agenda.
