HAVELSAN's indigenous command-and-control solution, the ADVENT Combat Management System, which marked a historic step in the Turkish defense industry, has entered the inventory of a NATO member country for the first time with the CAm.ROMAN corvette exported to Romania. While the system developed for the Turkish Naval Forces was adapted to Romania's operational needs, this export is expected to increase the international influence of the Turkish defense industry and open new export doors for other domestic defense systems.
The national command-and-control solution ADVENT Combat Management System, developed by the Turkish defense industry for naval platforms, has entered the inventory of a NATO member country for the first time with the CAm.ROMAN corvette exported to Romania. Developed by HAVELSAN, the system thus added another export success.
WILL SERVE IN THE ROMANIAN NAVAL FORCES
Within the framework of the export contract carried out by HAVELSAN for the sale of the CAm.ROMAN corvette to Romania, the ADVENT Combat Management System was also made available to the Romanian Naval Forces Command along with the ship.
Previously exported to many countries such as Pakistan, Indonesia, Ukraine, Qatar, Oman, Nigeria, Malaysia, and Chile, ADVENT has entered the inventory of a NATO ally for the first time with this delivery.
The system delivered to Romania was developed as a version of the ADVENT SYS used by the Turkish Naval Forces, adapted to Romania's operational needs.
CAN MANAGE MULTIPLE PLATFORMS SIMULTANEOUSLY
Developed in close cooperation with the Naval Forces Command, the ADVENT Combat Management System is designed not only for a single ship but also to combine multiple platforms around the same operational picture.
Managing critical operational processes such as threat assessment, decision support, target detection, and weapon and sensor control, the system can operate with allied forces thanks to different communication protocols.
ADVENT can be used on many different platforms, from small boats to large warships, from land-based command centers to unmanned naval vehicles.
NEW AI-SUPPORTED VERSION UNDER DEVELOPMENT
Developed by Turkish engineers and consisting of millions of lines of code, ADVENT was first put into service in 2019 on the Ada-class corvette TCG Kınalıada. It was later integrated into numerous platforms, including TCG Ufuk, TCG Anadolu, and CAm.ROMAN.
While HAVELSAN continues to develop the system with the AI-supported ADVENT AI version, it is also continuing its work on different configurations for new countries.
OPENED THE DOOR FOR EXPORTS OF OTHER INDIGENOUS SYSTEMS
With the delivery to Romania, the way has been paved for the international market entry of other indigenous defense technologies, such as the YELKOVAN Electronic Warfare System developed with TÜBİTAK and the TARGAN 12.7 mm automatic stabilized weapon system developed in cooperation with UNIROBOTICS, in addition to HAVELSAN's system.
Meanwhile, during the summit to be held in Ankara on July 7-8, where the capabilities of the Turkish defense industry will be showcased, the ADVENT system is expected to attract significant interest.
