A traffic accident that occurred in the morning hours in Istanbul's Çekmeköy district claimed lives. A light commercial vehicle, traveling on the Northern Marmara Highway at the Reşadiye location, rear-ended a truck in front of it. In the accident, 3 people, including a baby, lost their lives.
VEHICLE TURNED INTO SCRAP
The accident occurred around 06:00 at the Reşadiye location on the Northern Marmara Highway. According to the information obtained, a Fiat Doblo light commercial vehicle with license plate 06 CVR 047, driven by Yunus K., rear-ended a truck with license plate 34 DKL 080 traveling in the same direction.
Due to the impact, the light commercial vehicle sustained heavy damage, while the driver Yunus K. and a total of 3 people, including a baby passenger, lost their lives at the scene.
TEAMS WERE DISPATCHED
Upon notification by those who witnessed the accident, gendarmerie, fire brigade, and medical teams were dispatched to the area. Fire brigade teams arriving at the scene began efforts to extract people trapped in the vehicle.
The bodies of those determined to have lost their lives in the examinations were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy procedures.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
Gendarmerie teams took security measures on the highway, while an investigation was launched to determine the cause of the accident.
