In the US state of Pennsylvania, 45-year-old Matthew Stone killed 8 people, including his pregnant daughter and 2 young children, and then committed suicide. After the massacre, police entering the house encountered a horrifying scene: the toilets and sinks were not working, and the rooms were covered with bottles full of urine. It emerged that Stone had oppressed his family for years, and that his daughter, who was days away from giving birth, was preparing to leave the house.

New details have emerged regarding the family massacre that occurred on October 9 in Erie, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It was announced that Matthew Stone, who shot and killed 8 people including his wife, children, and relatives, had controlled his family's life for many years and that extremely unhealthy conditions existed in the house.

Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah shared with the public the findings obtained in the investigation carried out after the incident.

EVERY PART OF THE HOUSE WAS COVERED WITH BOTTLES FILLED WITH URINE

During the examination by police teams at the house on Perry Street where the massacre took place, it was determined that the living conditions were extremely poor.

It was determined that the shower, toilet, and kitchen sink in the house did not work, and that numerous 2-liter bottles had been filled with urine and left in the rooms.

Police Chief Lorah stated that detectives described the house as extremely dirty and said the conditions they encountered inside caused serious concern.

HE KEPT HIS FAMILY UNDER PRESSURE FOR YEARS

Family relatives interviewed as part of the investigation said that Matthew Stone had exerted pressure on the lives of his wife and children for years.

According to the statements, Stone controlled the family members' financial affairs and interfered with when they could leave the house and when they could meet with their relatives.

It was stated that Stone's controlling behavior gradually increased after his wife Michelle became pregnant with her first child. It was learned that over time Michelle Stone largely cut off communication with her friends and extended family.

It was announced that police records also contained a past domestic violence incident connected to the same house.

HIS PREGNANT DAUGHTER WAS PREPARING TO LEAVE THE HOUSE

It was determined that one of those who lost their lives in the massacre was 24-year-old pregnant Angelina Stone.

It emerged that the young woman, who was days away from giving birth, planned to leave the family home after giving birth to her baby.

During the police search of the house, numerous items packed in bags and boxes were found in Angelina's room.

It was learned that the young woman had also filed an official application to change her surname in order to distance herself from her father. It was stated that in her application she expressed concerns about her father's mental state and that she wanted to pursue a career in medicine.

HE ALSO KILLED THE TWO WOMEN WHO CAME TO HELP

According to information released by police, Angelina Stone asked her aunt Lora Lee Roberts for help in order to go to the hospital for childbirth.

Roberts came to the house with her friend Twila Tanner. However, the two women were shot outside the house and lost their lives.

Police believe the first gunshots were heard during the attack on the women.

Teams arriving at the scene determined that many people had lost their lives in and around the house.

TWO YOUNG CHILDREN ALSO LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE MASSACRE

In the attack, Matthew Stone's 44-year-old wife Michelle Stone, his 24-year-old pregnant daughter Angelina Stone, his 21-year-old son Matthew Stone Jr., his 19-year-old son Jonathan Stone, 37-year-old Lora Lee Roberts, and 51-year-old Twila Tanner lost their lives.

A 5-year-old boy and a nearly 2-year-old girl in the house were also among the victims of the attack.

It was determined that 45-year-old Matthew Stone, who killed eight people, later took his own life with the same gun. Thus, the death toll in the incident rose to 9, including the attacker.

POLICE STATEMENTS RAISED NEW QUESTIONS

The domestic pressure, past violence records, and living conditions in the house that emerged after the massacre raised the question of why what happened before the incident was not noticed earlier.

Authorities reported that the conditions family members lived in for years and the process leading to the massacre are being evaluated within the scope of the investigation.
