Shocking suspicion in the death of actress Ece İrtem, known for the series 'Kızılcık Şerbeti', who passed away suddenly at age 35! It has been revealed that the young actress, initially thought to have had a heart attack, was bitten by a monkey in Thailand a week before her death. The family's lawyer applied to the prosecutor's office, requesting an autopsy due to the possibility that the cause of death might be 'sepsis' (blood poisoning).
A shocking new claim has emerged regarding the sudden death of 35-year-old young actress Ece İrtem, known for her role as 'Işıl' in the series 'Kızılcık Şerbeti'. Initially considered a heart attack, the cause of death is now suspected to be linked to a monkey bite she received during a trip to Thailand a week before her death. The family's lawyer has applied to the prosecutor's office to have this detail examined in the autopsy.
The death of famous actress Ece İrtem, who suddenly fell ill and passed away at her home in Istanbul last Monday (June 15), had plunged the art world and her fans into mourning. While initial assessments suggested the 35-year-old actress died of a heart attack, a development today has completely changed the course of the investigation.
MYSTERIOUS WOUND MARKS FROM THAILAND VACATION
According to journalist Birsen Altuntaş's report, wound marks found on the young actress's left arm after her death prompted action from her family and legal representatives. It was revealed that the actress had traveled to Thailand a week before her death and was bitten by a monkey during this trip.
LAWYER APPLIES TO PROSECUTOR: SEPSIS SUSPICION
Uğur Gökkoyun, the lawyer for Ece İrtem's family, stated that they have obtained expert opinions suggesting this bite could be behind the cause of their client's death and submitted a petition to the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Lawyer Gökkoyun made the following statement on the matter: “Upon detecting three scar marks on the left arm of our client Ece İrtem, who passed away at her home on 15.06.2026, when we spoke with family members, they stated she was bitten by a monkey during her Thailand trip. In discussions with experts on this matter, it was learned that a monkey bite could have fatal consequences, including sepsis (blood poisoning). Today, a petition was submitted to the prosecutor's office requesting that this aspect also be evaluated in the autopsy.”
DEFINITE CAUSE OF DEATH TO BE CLARIFIED IN AUTOPSY
Experts note that wild animal bites, especially monkey bites, can cause rapidly spreading infections in the human body and lead to a fatal sepsis (blood poisoning) condition that can also trigger cardiac issues. Whether the young actress died of a heart attack or as a result of an infection contracted in Thailand will become clear after a detailed autopsy examination at the Forensic Medicine Institute. The investigation continues.
