A dispute over approximately 20 million lira in checks and promissory notes between Zafer Yılmaz, who runs a car dealership in Bursa, and his business partner Banu Özdağ ended in bloodshed. During the argument, Yılmaz shot Özdağ dead with a pistol, then turned the same weapon on himself and ended his own life. An investigation has been launched into the incident, which has caused a major uproar in the city.
A dispute allegedly over a debt in Bursa ended in a massacre. Zafer Yılmaz, a car dealer, shot and killed his business partner Banu Özdağ in the head with a pistol over a check and promissory note disagreement amounting to approximately 20 million lira. Yılmaz then immediately ended his own life with the same gun.
ARGUMENT TURNED INTO ARMED FIGHT
The horrific incident occurred in the Kemerçeşme neighborhood of Osmangazi district. According to claims, financial disagreements had been ongoing for some time between Zafer Yılmaz, who was involved in car sales, and his business partner Banu Özdağ, who operated in the construction sector.
A verbal argument broke out between the partners who had come together to resolve the check and promissory note crisis amounting to about 20 million lira. As tension quickly escalated, Zafer Yılmaz, overcome by anger, drew his pistol and shot Banu Özdağ in the head. The female contractor died at the scene.
TOOK HIS OWN LIFE WITH THE SAME GUN
Having taken his partner's life, Yılmaz then pressed the same gun against his own head and pulled the trigger immediately after committing the murder. Upon reports from neighborhood residents who heard the gunshots, numerous police and 112 Emergency Medical teams were dispatched to the area.
Initial examinations by medical teams arriving at the scene confirmed that both Banu Özdağ and Zafer Yılmaz had lost their lives. While crime scene investigators and a public prosecutor conducted extensive work in the area, the lifeless bodies of the two partners were taken to the morgue. A multi-faceted investigation into the bloody incident, which plunged their relatives into mourning, is ongoing.
