In the Çiğli district of Izmir, a fire that broke out in a single-story detached house turned into a tragedy. A 56-year-old grandmother and her 4-year-old grandson lost their lives in the house engulfed by flames. While the cause of the fire is being investigated, it was learned that the little child was preparing to celebrate his birthday on August 23.

THEY DIED IN THE FLAMES
The fire broke out around 17:30 in a single-story detached house located at 8424/3 Sokak, Şirintepe Mahallesi, Çiğli district. Upon reports from citizens who saw the smoke and flames rising from the house, fire, health, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished with the intervention of the teams. During the examination of the house, the lifeless bodies of 56-year-old Rezan Korkmaz and her 4-year-old grandson Yiğit Bulut Aydın were found.
Following the scene investigation, the bodies of the grandmother and grandson who lost their lives were taken to the İzmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
HE WAS PREPARING TO CELEBRATE HIS BIRTHDAY
Relatives who came to the scene upon hearing the news were deeply saddened. It was learned that one of the deceased, Yiğit Bulut Aydın, had a birthday on August 23. The police investigation into the incident continues.
