3,500 families whose dream of owning a home in Bursa has turned into a nightmare protested in front of the construction site. The affected families released black balloons into the sky.

Reactions are growing against Atış Yapı, which declared bankruptcy after entering a financial crisis in recent months. Along with the projects left unfinished after the bankruptcy, 3,500 families have been victimized as their dream of housing has turned into a nightmare.

THOUSANDS OF FAMILIES RELEASED BLACK BALLOONS INTO THE SKY

Families seeking justice gathered in front of Atış Yapı's construction site in the Nilüfer district. After making a press statement, the families released black balloons into the sky.

"WE DID NOT ENGAGE IN TRADE, WE WANTED TO BUY A HOUSE"

Speaking on behalf of the affected families, Cihan Ardıç stated, "We are citizens who set out with the dream of owning a home from a legitimate company through completely legal means, wanting to establish a home with our halal earnings that we saved for years by sacrificing from our food and our children. Just like thousands of others, we trusted Atış Yapı with the dream of buying a house from the ground. We believed in this company that instilled confidence in the billboards, posters in the city, advertising media, and the photos they took with politicians. So, is this trust a crime? Could there be such a crime? Today, approximately 3,500 families and 150,000 victims are in a great state of uncertainty and helplessness. We did not engage in trade; we wanted to buy a house.

As some circles claim, we are not investors, traders, or a wealthy class. Our only goal was to own a home to put a roof over our heads. Some of us set out for ourselves, some for our children, and some to evaluate their meager savings. The saying 'there can be profit or loss in trade' does not apply to us. We wanted to buy a home, not to invest. Since Atış Yapı declared bankruptcy on June 16, 2025, they have been stalling us, misleading us, and silencing us. We believed, we trusted, but we were deceived. Company executives were arrested on charges of fraud, and a trustee was appointed to the firm. In the five months that have passed, not a single nail has been driven, the construction sites are silent, and our hopes are running out," he expressed.
