According to the information obtained, the excavator operator working to connect village roads noticed bone fragments under the soil during excavation. After reporting the situation to the authorities, gendarmerie and crime scene investigation teams were dispatched to the scene.
“BONE FRAGMENTS EMERGED DURING EXCAVATION”
Yenidoğan Neighborhood Headman Hamdi Özatmaca stated that the bones uncovered during the excavation drew attention, saying, “While road work was being carried out, bone fragments came out of the ground as the excavator was digging. We informed the authorities, and teams arrived. From what we saw, it might belong to a young person. There are skull, arm and leg bones, hip and rib bones.”
Özatmaca also stated that no battles had occurred in the region in the past and expressed their belief that the bones may not be very old.
INVESTIGATION CONTINUES
Gendarmerie teams, which have launched an extensive investigation at the scene, are continuing their work to determine who the bones belonged to and the cause of death.
