In Antalya, a person attempted suicide by climbing to the roof of a five-story building, citing the reason that he could not afford to get his teeth fixed, while holding a cutting tool and a Quran. After a long struggle, the police managed to convince the 34-year-old man by promising to help him get his teeth fixed. When he came down, the man embraced the police officers.

In the Pazarcı neighborhood of Gazipaşa district in Antalya, tense moments unfolded. Hasan İ. (34), who climbed to the roof of a 4-story apartment building on the D-400 highway, attempted suicide due to not being able to get his teeth fixed.



CAME TO THE ROOF WITH A CUTTING TOOL AND THE QUR'AN



Citizens who saw the man on the roof with a cutting tool and the Qur'an reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon notification, police, medical, and fire teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire department took precautions by setting up a tarpaulin under the building to prevent a possible fall.



PERSUADED WITH A PROMISE TO FIX HIS TEETH



Police teams tried to persuade Hasan İ., who said he climbed to the roof because he couldn't get his teeth fixed, for a long time. After approximately 1.5 hours, he was convinced by the negotiating police teams with the promise that help would be provided for him to get his teeth fixed.



HUGGED THE POLICE



The man, who was brought down from the roof, hugged the police teams. Hasan İ., who was taken to Gazipaşa State Hospital for control, was later taken to the police station for his statement.
