STARTED IN THE ENGINE SECTION
The incident occurred in Bahçeköy District around 11:30 AM. According to the information received, sounds started coming from the engine section of the IETT bus driven by Süleyman K. while it was in motion.
Noticing the situation, the driver stopped the vehicle and evacuated about 25 passengers on the bus. Shortly after, smoke from the engine section turned into flames.
FLAMES CAPTURED ON MOBILE PHONE
The moments when the IETT bus was burning in flames were recorded by nearby citizens with their mobile phone cameras. The fire was seen engulfing the entire vehicle in a short time.
BUS RENDERED UNUSABLE
Upon notification, fire crews dispatched to the scene intervened and extinguished the fire. No deaths or injuries occurred in the fire, but the bus was rendered unusable. Police teams launched an investigation into the incident.
