In the Tarsus district of Mersin, a fight broke out over the price of coffee, resulting in the death of the vendor Ali Beyaz, who was stabbed. Three people have been arrested in connection with the incident.

KNIFE AND CLEAVER FIGHT BROKE OUT OVER COFFEE PRICE



The incident occurred on Saturday evening, June 14, at the Uğur İş Hanı Passage located in the Yarenlik Area of the district. F.I., Ş.I., and S.C.I., who have businesses in the passage, reportedly started arguing with their neighbor, shopkeeper Ali Beyaz, over the price of coffee. The argument quickly escalated into a fight involving knives and cleavers.



FATHER AND SON INJURED



During the fight, Ali Beyaz and his son Abdullah D.B. (25) were stabbed, while F.I., Ş.I., and S.C.I. were also injured in various parts of their bodies. Upon receiving notifications from bystanders, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Five people injured in the incident were taken to the hospital by ambulances.



DIED IN HOSPITAL



Ali Beyaz, who was taken to Tarsus State Hospital in critical condition, could not be saved despite all medical interventions, while it was learned that his son D.B. is still receiving treatment.



3 PEOPLE ARRESTED



After their treatment was completed at the hospital, F.I., Ş.I., and S.C.I. were detained by the police. The three suspects, whose interrogations at the police station were completed, were referred to the courthouse. F.I., Ş.I., and S.C.I., who appeared before the judge, were arrested and sent to prison. Shopkeeper Ali Beyaz, who lost his life in the dispute over coffee prices, was buried today at noon in Tarsus City Cemetery.
