In Istanbul's Bayrampaşa district, a person who did not want products to be sold to a restaurant run by his spouse, from whom he was in the process of divorcing, allegedly followed a butcher who continued selling despite his warnings and stabbed him in the middle of the street. The butcher, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, died despite all interventions. The suspect, who fled after the incident, was caught by police teams in a short time.

In the Cevatpaşa Neighborhood of Istanbul's Bayrampaşa district, according to the claim, Recep P. threatened butcher Fikret Korkmaz, who was trying to sell products to his wife—who runs a restaurant and is in the process of divorce—not to sell them.

TRACKED AND STABBED

When Korkmaz continued insisting on selling products, Recep P. began following the butcher. The suspect followed Korkmaz, who had set out on foot, for a while and then began arguing with him on the road. In a short time, it turned into a knife attack. Recep P. pulled out his knife and wounded butcher Fikret Korkmaz. As Korkmaz collapsed to the ground from the stab wounds, the suspect fled. Upon notification by those around, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. During the medical teams' checks, Fikret Korkmaz, who was determined to have been seriously injured in the incident, was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

COULD NOT BE SAVED

Fikret Korkmaz, who was taken under treatment at the hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions. Police teams caught the fleeing suspect Recep P. in a short time.

"HE THREATENED BY SAYING, 'DO NOT GIVE GOODS TO MY WIFE, DO NOT GIVE PRODUCTS'"

İhsan Günaydın, an employee of Fikret Korkmaz, who lost his life, said, "The suspect is our customer, but I don't know him. A person who wants to divorce his wife threatened our boss by saying, 'Do not give goods to my wife, do not give products.' They argued like that. Later, he follows him. They meet and an argument breaks out. A stabbing incident occurs."

"THE INJURED PERSON HAD LOST A LOT OF BLOOD"

Shopkeeper Ekrem Balcıoğlu said, "When I heard the voices, I went outside. One person was lying on the ground. They had argued, and then the suspect drew a knife. The deceased friend said, 'Are you threatening me with a knife?' A sad incident happened in a moment of anger. He was wounded in the calf and blood was flowing. It had flowed quite a bit; we got a towel, applied pressure, and tried to help, but we couldn't succeed. Afterwards, ambulance and police teams arrived, but the injured person had lost a lot of blood. We received news that he died; he was a butcher, a fellow tradesman friend of ours here. I was sad, of course."
