In an entertainment venue in Beşiktaş Ortaköy, business owner Ali Ünal was injured after being shot in the leg by customer Sezgin K. during an argument. The suspect was caught in Sancaktepe with an unlicensed firearm.

In a dispute at an entertainment venue in Beşiktaş, the business owner Ali (Binali) Ünal (56) was injured by a gunshot fired by a customer, Sezgin K. (40). The bullet hit his leg, and the business owner was taken to a private hospital in Ulus. The suspect, who fled after the incident, was caught in Sancaktepe by Beşiktaş Public Security Bureau teams along with the unlicensed gun used in the crime.

NO LIFE THREAT

The incident occurred around 03:45 yesterday at an entertainment venue in Ortaköy neighborhood. According to obtained information, a dispute arose between business owner Ali Ünal and Sezgin K., who came to the venue for entertainment. Allegedly, Ali Ünal warned Sezgin K. about the people with him. The ensuing argument quickly escalated. Sezgin K. fired 4-5 shots from a gun he pulled from his waist. As a result of the gunfire, Ali Ünal was injured by a bullet that hit his leg. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. After initial first aid at the scene by medical teams, the injured business owner was taken to a private hospital in Ulus for treatment. It was learned that Ali Ünal's life is not in danger.

BEŞİKTAŞ PUBLIC SECURITY POLICE CAPTURED HIM

Following the incident, efforts were launched to capture the fleeing suspect. In operations conducted by Beşiktaş Public Security Bureau teams, Sezgin K. was caught in Sancaktepe around 14:30 the same day. The unlicensed Taurus brand gun used in the crime and 9 rounds loaded in the magazine were seized from the suspect.

REFERRED TO COURT

Proceedings were initiated against the detained Sezgin K. for 'Intentional injury' and 'Violation of firearms law.' It was learned that the suspect was referred to court after police procedures.
