AN ATTACK WAS ALSO CARRIED OUT ON OCTOBER 12
In Colombia, most recently on October 12, 3 people were injured in an attack carried out with a bomb-laden vehicle on toll booths on a highway in the Cauca department.
The Casanare department is located in Colombia's Eastern Plains region and is among the departments where illegal armed groups operate.
In the region, armed groups operate, including the Clan del Golfo (Gulf Clan), linked to drug trafficking; the Jose David Suarez Front of the armed insurgent organization National Liberation Army (ELN); and groups made up of members of the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) who opposed the peace agreement it made with the state in 2016.
