In the Menemen district of Izmir, a truck's tire burst and crashed into barriers, resulting in the deaths of the driver and a passenger. An investigation into the accident has been launched.
In the Menemen district of Izmir, driver Ömer Faruk Uygun (29) and passenger Burhan Çotur (65) lost their lives in an accident where a truck, whose tire burst, crashed into barriers and overturned.
TRUCK'S TIRE BURST
The accident occurred around 18:30 on the North Aegean Highway. The truck with license plate 06 DGG 078, driven by Ömer Faruk Uygun while heading towards Izmir, went out of control after its tire burst, crashing into barriers and overturning. Upon notification by bystanders, highway gendarmerie and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical teams determined that driver Ömer Faruk Uygun and passenger Burhan Çotur had lost their lives.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED INTO THE ACCIDENT
The bodies of Uygun and Çotur were taken to the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institute morgue after the prosecutor's examination. The overturned truck was removed from the scene, and an investigation into the accident was launched.
