The severe downpour that affected Istanbul created terrifying moments in Sarıyer. A person who lost their balance and fell amid floodwaters that had grown strong enough to sweep away vehicles tried to survive by swimming so as not to be carried away by the current. While those moments of the citizen struggling against the force of the water were captured on a mobile phone camera, it was learned that they survived the incident.
In Sarıyer, one of the districts affected by the downpour that hit Istanbul, the streets turned into a lake.
