Within the scope of the investigation into bribery allegations in the zoning processes of Seferihisar Municipality in three provinces centered in İzmir, Nermin Günay, the wife of Güzelbahçe Mayor Mustafa Günay, who was previously arrested and suspended from duty, was also detained on the grounds of being linked to the suspects. As part of the operation, the procedures of 8 suspects, including the Deputy Mayor, continue at the police station.
A new development has occurred in the extensive "bribery" investigation conducted against İzmir's Seferihisar Municipality. Within the scope of the operation, Nermin Günay, the wife of Mustafa Günay, the Güzelbahçe Mayor who was previously arrested and suspended from duty, has also been detained.
Mustafa Günay WIFE ALSO APPREHENDED AFTER THE MAYOR The zoning and bribery investigation led by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office continues in multiple directions. As part of the work carried out by the İl Emniyet Müdürlüğü Mali Suçlarla Mücadele Şubesi (Provincial Police Department Financial Crimes Branch) teams, a detention decision was issued for Nermin Günay, who is alleged to have connections with suspects previously taken into custody. Nermin Günay, the wife of suspended Güzelbahçe Mayor Mustafa Günay, was captured by police teams and taken to the police station. The statement and interrogation procedures for a total of 8 suspects, including Nermin Günay, are ongoing at the Financial Crimes Branch Directorate.
SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION CARRIED OUT IN THREE PROVINCES In the background of the investigation, it was determined that certain individuals and organizations linked to Seferihisar Municipality had committed irregularities in zoning and construction processes and obtained undue benefits (bribes) in exchange for transactions. Accordingly, the Financial Crimes Branch Directorate teams conducted simultaneous raids in the provinces of İzmir, Istanbul, and Ankara.
In those operations, Seferihisar Deputy Mayor İ.G.P., construction company officials S.B. and R.K.B., public official Ö.A., company officials S.Y. and R.Ö., and company employee M.C.H. were taken into custody. During the operation, numerous digital materials belonging to the suspects and various documents that could affect the course of the investigation were seized for examination.
