In the Düzköy district of Trabzon, the number of deaths from a grass-cutting quarrel that broke out among relatives yesterday has risen to two.

LAND DISPUTE ENDS IN MASSACRE

According to information received, a dispute arose yesterday in the Gürgendağ neighborhood of the district between Paşa Gülle (64) and his aunt by marriage, Emine Gülle (69), over a grass-cutting issue. As the argument escalated, Paşa Gülle shot his aunt with a pistol, killing her, and seriously injured his niece Fatma E. (51) and her son Ekrem Ergün (14).

DEATH TOLL RISES TO TWO

Upon hearing the gunshots, citizens in the vicinity alerted authorities, and gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured Fatma Ergün and her son Ekrem Ergün received initial first aid at the scene and were then taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment. Following the incident, Paşa Gülle surrendered to gendarmerie teams.

Ekrem Ergün, who was seriously injured in the incident, could not be saved and died today at Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) Farabi Hospital, where he was receiving treatment.
