Malia Nummerdor, 38, who was arrested in the U.S. state of Florida on allegations of having sexual intercourse with the family dog, was released on bail. It drew attention that the woman, who was reportedly not allowed to see her two sons, was allowed to return home in the evenings to eat and spend time with her pets.

Malia Nummerdor, a 38-year-old insurance worker living in Punta Gorda, Florida, faced charges of sexual abuse against the family dog.

After the charges against her, Nummerdor was released on bail, and it was reported that she is currently staying at friends' homes. The woman, who is allowed to return to her home worth approximately 70,000 pounds only in the evening hours, was reported to be able to eat there and spend time with her pets. No explanation was made as to why Nummerdor could not spend the night in her own home.

EMERGED THROUGH HER HUSBAND'S SOCIAL MEDIA POST

The incident came to public attention on September 11 through allegations made on social media by Nummerdor's estranged husband, Erik Nummerdor. Erik Nummerdor claimed that a security camera he had placed in the bedroom to identify money missing from the change jar at home recorded his wife in an inappropriate situation with the family dog named Rancher.

A detective who examined the footage involving the dog, also referred to as Ranger in court records, reported that the woman was naked from the waist down and was in a position suggesting sexual activity with the dog. The detective also stated that the camera was in a visible location, its red light was blinking, and the residents of the home were aware of the camera.

SHE DENIED THE CHARGES

Malia Nummerdor confirmed that the person in the footage was her, but denied the charges against her. The woman argued that the footage was published by her husband without permission. In the investigation documents, it was stated that Nummerdor could not provide a consistent explanation regarding what was seen in the camera recordings. In some reports, it was stated that the woman claimed she only loved the dog. It was reported that the footage in question dates to late 2025.

HER MUGSHOT ALSO CAUSED CONTROVERSY

Nummerdor's smile in the photo taken after she was taken into custody also drew attention. Charlotte County Sheriff Bill Prumell stated that he could not hide his astonishment at the incident, saying that he rarely found words to say in his professional life and that this incident was one of them. Prumell also reacted to the woman's smile in her mugshot.

SHE IS NOT ALLOWED TO SEE HER TWO SONS

It was reported that Nummerdor, whose investigation continues, has been banned from seeing her two sons. The woman, whose phone was confiscated by the police, argued that what happened also negatively affected her professional life.

On the other hand, a donation campaign was launched on GoFundMe to support Nummerdor. While some users on social media supported the woman, others reacted to the allegations. It was also claimed that Nummerdor received threatening letters.

REACTION FROM HER EX-HUSBAND TO THE DONATION CAMPAIGN

The woman's estranged husband, Erik Nummerdor, criticized the donation campaign launched from his social media account. Erik Nummerdor questioned how a person who owns a house became homeless and how his wife, whom he claimed had not worked before, lost her job.

A source close to the parties stated that it is not yet clear whether the incident stems from a contentious divorce process or from a serious crime. Malia Nummerdor is expected to appear in court on October 19. The charges against her have not yet been finalized by a court decision.
