In the Kuşadası district of Aydın, 17-year-old S.K., who caused moments of fear among those around by running along the street with knives in his hands, was calmed down by his father in the store he entered after police fired shots into the air and intervened with pepper spray. The suspect, who was referred to the courthouse after procedures at the police station, was arrested. It was claimed that the suspect had bipolar disorder.
In Kuşadası, a young man running barefoot down the street with knives in his hand kept police teams and local shopkeepers on alert for a long time. During the incident, a police officer also fell to the ground in the ensuing scuffle.
HE RAN BAREFOOT DOWN THE STREET
In Cumhuriyet Neighborhood on Adnan Menderes Boulevard in the morning hours of Saturday, October 31, citizens who saw a person running barefoot on the street with knives in his hand reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Following the report, numerous police teams were dispatched to the area.
POLICE FIRED INTO THE AIR
S.K. (17), who said he would harm himself, did not calm down despite the police teams' efforts to persuade him. A while later, police teams trying to stop the suspect, who started running again, fired into the air. This time, S.K., who entered a clothing store with the knives in his hand, was intervened with pepper spray.
HE CALMED DOWN WITH HIS FATHER'S INTERVENTION
The suspect, who insisted on not leaving the store, was also intervened by his father, who came to the scene. During the scuffle that broke out, a police officer fell to the ground. S.K., who calmed down with his father's intervention, was taken out of the store and handed over to police teams. The lively moments in the store were captured by security cameras.
S.K., who was stated not to want to get into the ambulance called to the scene, was taken under control by the teams and taken to Kuşadası State Hospital.
HE WAS ARRESTED
During the identity check, it was alleged that the suspect had bipolar disorder. After his procedures at the police station, S.K. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested and sent to İzmir Aliağa Şakran Closed Penal Institution for Children and Youth.
