An investigation has been initiated ex officio against Rabia Coşkun, the Kayseri Provincial Head of the Turanist Associations Union, who protested the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion at Kayseri Republic Square, on charges of 'Publicly Disseminating Misleading Information' due to statements made during her address. While Coşkun has been detained, she is expected to be referred to the prosecutor's office today.

On August 16, 2026, a public meeting was held in Kayseri Republic Square, organized by the "Turanian Associations Union," to protest the "Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration."
During this meeting, the statements made in the press release by Rabia Coşkun, the Kayseri Provincial Chairwoman of the Turanian Associations Union, were brought to the judiciary.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED UNDER TPC ARTICLE 217/A
Following the statements in the press release, the Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office acted swiftly. An ex officio investigation was launched against Rabia Coşkun for the crime of "Publicly Disseminating Misleading Information" (TPC Art. 217/A). Within the scope of the investigation, security forces acted and apprehended the suspect, Coşkun, on August 17, 2026, placing her in custody.

It was reported that the procedures for the detained Provincial Chairwoman, Rabia Coşkun, are ongoing at the police department. The suspect is expected to be brought before the Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office today to give her statement.
