Political prisoner Mehrab Abdollahzadeh, arrested during the 'Woman, Life, Freedom' protests in Iran, has been executed. Additionally, two more individuals were executed in the country on espionage charges. It is noteworthy that the executions occurred during the fragile ceasefire process following the conflicts, while reports indicate an increase in executions recently.
It was announced that Mehrab Abdollahzadeh, a political prisoner arrested during the "Woman, Life, Freedom" protests in Iran, has been executed. The Mizan News Agency, affiliated with the judiciary, reported that the execution was carried out at Urmia Prison on Sunday morning.
TWO MORE EXECUTIONS ON ESPIONAGE CHARGES
In Iran, it was also reported that two more individuals were executed on Saturday after the Supreme Court upheld death sentences on espionage charges. The individuals were accused of spying for Israel and collaborating with Mossad.
EXECUTION DECISIONS AMID TENSIONS
The executions drew attention as they occurred during a fragile ceasefire process following clashes that began on February 28. It is stated that executions in the country have continued to increase recently.
PLACED IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT
According to Kurdish human rights sources, Abdollahzadeh was placed in solitary confinement on April 28 after an argument with a prison official at Urmia Prison.
