US President Donald Trump stated that in response to Iran's demand for "military compensation," he demanded compensation from Tehran "for the people it has killed over the past 50 years." Trump said, "I am demanding compensation from Iran. Not to mention the 52,000 people killed in the last five months; compensation should also be paid to the families of the hundreds of thousands of innocent protesters that Iran has massacred over the past 50 years."

Iran demanded "war reparations" from the US to open the Strait of Hormuz. In response to Iran's demand, US President Trump stated that he would demand compensation from Tehran "for the people they have killed over the last 50 years."

IRAN SETS 6 CONDITIONS FOR THE US TO MEET

Iran has set a series of conditions that the US must meet in order to reach an agreement with Oman to partially reopen the Strait of Hormuz. These conditions include the payment of war reparations.

Iran warned that the Strait would remain closed until the US fulfills six critical conditions.

TRUMP: WE ARE TAKING THE PROCESS SLOWLY

US President Donald Trump said that the US is taking the process with Iran slowly, as talks aimed at ending the war and resuming shipments through the Strait of Hormuz have come to a standstill.

Speaking to Axios, Trump said, "We are only negotiating with them halfway. We are just watching Iran with its high inflation and the fact that they have no money left."

ONE OF THE CONDITIONS IS "WAR REPARATIONS"

Iran has set a series of conditions that the US must meet in order to reach an agreement with Oman to partially reopen the Strait of Hormuz. These conditions include the payment of war reparations.

Mohammad Bagher Zolqadr, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated that the Strait would remain closed until the US fulfills six conditions, including ending its war and aggression against Iran and its allies in Lebanon, Palestine, Yemen, and Iraq forever.

TRUMP: I AM DEMANDING COMPENSATION FROM TEHRAN

In a statement on his social media account, Trump said they demand compensation for the damages suffered during the last five months of conflict and claimed that this issue had never come up in any of their previous negotiations.

The US President noted that this was an "interesting idea" and said that he would now also demand compensation from Iran.

Trump used the following statements in his remarks:

"I see that representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran are demanding compensation for the damages they suffered during the last five months of military conflict (which began due to the fact that they will never be allowed to have nuclear weapons); however, this issue has never been brought up in any of our previous negotiations or meetings! Still, it is an interesting idea; because I am now also demanding compensation from Iran. I expect compensation for all the people they killed and seriously wounded, especially through actions led by General Soleimani—through roadside bombs and so many of those conflicts they are famous for (including the families of those lost in the USS Cole attack and thousands of others killed in conflicts). Not to mention the 52,000 people killed in the last five months; compensation should also be paid to the families of the hundreds of thousands of innocent protesters Iran has slaughtered over the last 50 years. I have instructed my representatives to make this an indispensable part of all future negotiations. Thank you for your interest in this matter!"
