Tensions have risen again in the war that has turned the Middle East into a firestorm. Israel, retaliating against Iran's attacks on Tel Aviv, struck the cities of Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, and Karaj with ballistic missiles launched from the air. While Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's move, defying US President Trump's warning 'Do not attack,' escalated tensions, it was reported that retaliation against the Tel Aviv administration's attacks came from Yemen.

The fragile ceasefire that had been in place for months in the Middle East has effectively ended. After Iran's ballistic missile attacks on Israel over the weekend, the Israeli military conducted simultaneous operations on multiple points within Iranian territory. Explosions were heard in the capital Tehran, as well as the cities of Isfahan, Tabriz, and Karaj. The Israeli military stated that the attacks targeted Iranian military objectives.

OPERATION PROCEEDED DESPITE TRUMP'S WARNING

U.S. President Donald Trump had called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to show restraint after Iran's attacks, warning that retaliation could trigger a larger war. However, the Netanyahu administration did not back down and ordered the operation against Iran. The U.S. Department of Defense announced that American forces were not involved in the strikes.

SUCCESSIVE EXPLOSIONS IN IRAN

According to reports in the international press, numerous explosions occurred in Tehran, Tabriz, Isfahan, and Karaj following Israel's attacks. While the Iranian government increased security measures in the airspace around the capital, flight traffic was restricted in some areas. Iranian authorities did not provide detailed statements regarding the scale of the attacks, but it was alleged that the targeted points were military facilities.

IRAN'S ATTACK TRIGGERED THE CRISIS

The tension was sparked by Iran's ballistic missile attacks against Israel. While Iran's Revolutionary Guards announced that they had carried out a missile operation in response to Israel's attacks in Lebanon, the Israeli military stated that most of the missiles were neutralized. Despite this, the ceasefire mechanism that had been in place between the two countries for months collapsed.

YEMEN FRONT ALSO MOBILIZED

Another development escalating the tension in the region came from Yemen. The Israeli military announced that new missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles launched from Yemen had been detected. Iran-backed Houthis are known to have previously carried out attacks targeting Tel Aviv and Ben Gurion Airport. Recent developments have strengthened concerns that the conflict may not remain limited to Israel and Iran.

REGIONAL WAR CONCERNS GROW

Experts warn that Israel's direct targeting of Iranian territory and Iran's statements about preparing new retaliations could pave the way for a larger-scale conflict in the Middle East. The announcement by some armed groups in Iraq that they might join the conflict is also cited among the factors strengthening the possibility of a regional war.
