In the Osmaneli district of Bilecik, the water flowing from four different fountains within the Prof. Dr. Yunus Söylet Facility, known as 'İçmeler', has a distinct taste from each other, and it is believed that this water, flowing for 1,400 years, is beneficial for kidneys, gallbladder, eczema, and the stomach.
On the Istanbul-Antalya highway, at a facility 8 kilometers from Osmaneli, there are 4 fountains claimed to be beneficial for the treatment of skin diseases and ailments of the stomach, gallbladder, and kidneys. The springs, turned into a facility by the Osmaneli Municipality in 2017, flow from four separate taps, each for kidney, gallbladder, eczema, and stomach disorders.
"THEY CLAIM IT HELPS THEIR OWN AILMENTS"
Facility coordinator Abdullah Tetik, providing information about the facility, said, "There is good water here, and people are interested in it. They claim it helps their own ailments. At this point, we built a facility where they can stay in nature when they come, so they can use this area as a picnic spot. Currently, we have obtained operating permits from the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and we have opened this place to tourism. This is a facility with a total capacity of 80 beds, the Icmeler Facility. People come and meet their needs, and also fulfill their accommodation and rest needs. At the same time, an environment is provided where they can breathe more comfortably in nature and return to their hometowns feeling refreshed. They taste the water and continue their relaxation process here."
"IT HAS BEEN HERE FOR 1400 YEARS"
Tetik, explaining that the flowing waters have been here for 1400 years, said, "We know that these waters have been flowing regularly as fountains since 1950. They were used in previous years, but after the fountains were built, people started to show more interest. We invite all our citizens; we invite them to taste these beauties."
"I HAD PSORIASIS, I FOUND HEALING"
Adan Ön, who came from Sakarya, said, "I had psoriasis, I found healing. I come regularly," while another citizen said, "This place has been mentioned for many years; we come from Sakarya and stopped by while passing by."
